There's the announcement, but the big news is that pavement will be allowed to complete this ride. The gravel roads are in craptastic condition, so pavement is not only allowed, it is highly encouraged.

Coffee House at 7:00 am for coffee. Depart at 7:30 am.

Ride to Seward and return to Lincoln, or continue to Wahoo for some extra fun.
Return to Lincoln with a Nebraska Power Ball ticket from each town, and finish at Yia Yias.

Lincoln-?-Lincoln Update!!!

The destination towns for the 2010 versions of the PCL "Lincoln-?-Lincoln" ride will be announced by 5 PM on Friday. Check this blog on Friday to get the info you need.

This will give you at least 14 hours to consider your gravel options and pick the best route for you. In fact, that's enough time to pre-ride your route, just to make sure...

Lincoln - ? - Lincoln, this Saturday!

The Lincoln-?-Lincoln event will take place Saturday March 13th at 7 AM. Meet at 7 AM for a cup of coffee with the ride starting at 7:30 AM! Starting point is The Coffee House (13th and P in downtown Lincoln) and finish is tentatively at Yia Yia's (14th and O Street). The half way destination will be announced on Saturday.

Come prepared for approximately either a 50 or an 80 mile ride. You can do either the 50 or 80 miler - the longer route will be for those who want more of a challenge. The half way point will be a small town convenience store so you can refresh your bottles and get some snacks.

There aren't a lot of rules for this event, except one....you gotta ride to the destination via dirt or gravel and then ride back to Lincoln via dirt or gravel. Pavement must be avoided once out of the city limits! You can choose any route you like, but it's gotta be on dirt or gravel.

Gravel Worlds is FULL...for now anyways

The "registration" for Gravel Worlds/The Good Life Gravel Adventure is tentatively full. For now anyways...

There is a chance we'll open it up to more at a later date, but no guarantees. I will say this, I can't stop anyone from going for a bike ride. So if someone were to show up at the start of the event and wanted to ride their bike in the same direction as everyone else, well....I can't stop that, now can I.

Oh, and yes, I know there are 101 folks on the list. I got three cards today, so I added them all.

As a reminder, the Gravel Worlds will be on Saturday August 21, 2010. Expect 135 to 150 miles of challenging gravel and MMR (minimum maintenance roads) with a dash of pavement.

MMR in the 2009 GLGA

The checkpoints will be small town convenience stores. Riders are required to purchase a Nebraska Powerball Lottery ticket at each specified convenience store. Each ticket costs a whopping 1 dollar. Lottery tickets will be collected at the finish line and verified with the time/date stamp. The convenience stores will also allow you to replenish supplies/beverages at intervals of 30 to 40 miles. So you will never be too far from sustenance. Be sure to bring some cash!
